The one public RUN quote (2021)

The only RUN price we could trace to a document is a 2021 ADP proposal for 2 employees on RUN Essential, bi-weekly, posted on certnaca.gov: $45.56 per payroll run, or about $98.71 a month (our arithmetic: 26 runs a year ÷ 12). Reported quote The quote is five years old and covers one small company, so read it as evidence, not today’s price; ADP’s proposal itself calls the fees estimates. Source: the proposal PDF.

What will Roll by ADP cost for my team?

Roll by ADP costs $89 a month for 10 people and $289 for 50, at its published price. The table is our sums of published prices; ADP gives businesses new to Roll three months free, starting at company setup.

What changes the price of RUN?

ADP says RUN’s price depends on how often you run payroll, how many people you pay and how often you add or remove them, plus any add-ons such as HR tools. Its FAQ adds that fees rise with payroll frequency, so weekly payroll costs more than bi-weekly. The add-ons offered on every package are time and attendance, retirement plans, workers’ comp and health insurance.

To get a comparable RUN quote, ask for the same thing from each sales rep: your headcount, your pay frequency, the package (Essential covers payroll alone), and year-end fees written out. ADP’s FAQ says RUN has no contract and you can cancel at any time.

What is ADP’s free-months offer?

New RUN clients with 1 to 49 employees in the continental US get up to 6 free months if they sign and start payroll by November 26, 2026. The free months are months 4–6 and 13–15, not the first six, and Essential clients who set themselves up get 3. Source: ADP’s offer terms. Roll’s offer is separate: three months free from company setup. We’ll re-check both after November 26.

What costs extra?

The 2021 proposal is the only public view of RUN’s extra fees, so treat these as reported, not current:

  • Year-end W-2s: $54.95 a year plus $5.95 per W-2. Reported quote
  • Each extra tax jurisdiction: $7 a month. Reported quote
  • Add-ons: time tracking, retirement, workers’ comp and health insurance are quoted separately.
  • Contractors on RUN: ADP bills a monthly base plus a per-contractor fee, and year-end fees apply.
